Sea duck hunts are conducted on the famed Chesapeake Bay. We will be hunting from one of our custom big water duck boats or lying parallel to the water in one of our layout boats. The types of sea ducks that we will be hunting are: Surf Scoter, Common Scoter, White Wing Scoter, and Long-tailed duck (Oldsquaw). The action is fast as the birds are moving up and down the bay just inches above the water! Your waterfowl guides will be using “long line rigs” with LOTS of sea duck decoys. We are shooting DECOYING birds. Not the 50 yard shot at passing flocks! Bring lots of shells as sea duck hunting will test your shooting ability! This package includes 3 hunters but our custom boats can hunt up to 6 hunters VERY comfortably. All of our sea duck hunting guides are licensed USCG captains. They know the bay and understand how quickly conditions can change on the water.

We offer traditional Maryland diver duck hunting for canvasbacks, bluebills, redheads, goldeneyes, and buffleheads. Black Duck Outfitters hunting guides will take you out in one of our custom duck boats or layout boats for a morning of fast action diver duck shooting. The season for divers is November – January. We will be hunting the tidal rivers on both the eastern and western shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Some of the most famous decoy carvers in the world have hunted these waters for years. The guides will be using large decoy rigs just like it has been for done generations before. Black Duck Outfitters equipment is “state of the art” but the traditions that have been handed down to us remain the same.

Hunting on the Susquehanna River in North Central Pennsylvania is a great time for a new hunter to start their waterfowling career. The river can be over a mile wide at someplaces we frequently hunt and the species of ducks we harvest can be as equally diverse. Mallards and wood ducks make up the bulk of the harvest. However, we also frequently harvest black bucks, teal, gadwalls, widgeon, ringnecks and even pintails. We hunt from blind boats, shore blinds and even layout blinds depending on river conditions. The "River" stays open late until the season and you can expect the opportunity at ducks all the way through January.

Black Duck Outfitters specializes in Canada goose hunting on the western shore of Maryland. We hunt the early season from September 1-25 (8 birds per day limit) and all of the late season in November – February. The AP limits are 2 Canada geese per hunter per day and late season resident zone limit is 5 Canada geese per hunter per day. We have less pressure and lots of geese on the western shore. We do hunt both zones on the western shore depending on which zone holds the best opportunity for you at the time of your hunt.

We can't guarantee weather or when the birds will fly, some things you just can't control. For water hunts, we reserve the right to reschedule or may offer you a field hunt option if the water is at a dangerous level due to heavy rain or winds. Your safety and the safety of our guides is our primary concern.
No show/Cancelation policy
Black Duck Outfitters reserves the right to cancel and reschedule hunts up to 20 days in advance for any reason.
